San Diego King’s Day
Each year, Dutch in the Netherlands and abroad commemorate the birthday of King Willem Alexander with a full day of music, food and merriment on April 27. This year, The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe will be hosting San Diego King’s Day in Rancho Santa Fe, CA.
This year, Dutch community groups in San Diego invite locals & fellow expats alike to enjoy San Diego King’s Day on the sprawling, picturesque lawns of The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe on April 27, 2019 from 1 – 7pm.
For complete information or details on how to participate, please visit www.sandiegokingsday.com
Festivities will include Dutch themed vendors, traditional cuisine like Bitterballen & Rookworst created by The Inn’s Executive Chef Chris House & team, a silent auction, live music, Heineken beer garden, Bols cocktails, libations from Effen Vodka and more.
For family-friendly fun, attendees can peruse vendor booths and snap a picture at the Holland-themed photo booth.
Kiddos can play in the Southern California sun during San Diego King’s Day. Entertainment will include a bounce house and traditional Dutch games hosted by the Dutch School of Southern California, La Jolla. Children can even participate in a traditional Dutch “flea market.” Kids sell crafts they’ve made themselves or gently used items from home. Negotiation is allowed, part of the fun and the kids keep any profit they raise. It’s a fun and hands-on way for kids to learn about business and commerce.
